What is an eclipse?
The apparent path of the Sun and planets around the Earth (called the Ecliptic) and the Moon's orbit around the earth are not parallel to one another.

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon comes in between the Sun and Earth, cutting off the light of the Sun. A solar eclipse alway takes place on a new moon day. A Solar Eclipse usually denotes beginning of anything in life.

What is a Solar Return?
According to Ray Merriman, the esteemed astrologer who wrote the book and the report, The Solar Return, solar return charts are "calculated for the place where you are on your birthday.

Likewise the Solar Plexus Centre that relates to the Fifth Ray, is connected to the energy field of the Sun, and which affects the Solar Plexus Centre through its annual seasons.

Solar Return - A Solar Return is a chart that is drawn at the exact moment that the sun returns to it's position on your natal chart. This occurs either on your birthday or a day before or after.

Solar Return-In the sunset chart system, the solar return refers to the time in life when the rogressed Sun reaches the place occupied by the Sun in the birth chart.

Solar Eclipse - When the Sun is covered up by the Moon. An omen of deep transformation, often lasting 6 to 12 months.

Solar Return Reports:
The significance of the solar return runs birthday to birthday with a three month overlap at the beginning and end of each year. These are typically cast for the location you are celebrating your birthday.

Solar chart: (a.k.a. Sun-on-the-Ascendant chart) A chart in which the sign and the degrees of the Sun at the time of birth are used as an artificial Ascendant when the event clock time or birth clock time is not known.

Solar Arc Directions - A secondary movement in Astrology which takes the daily movement of the Sun and interprets that with a year of life.
Solar Return - The solar return chart occurs once a year at about the time of one's birthday.

Solar Eclipse - this occurs when the Moon appears to block out the Sun because it's between both the Sun and Earth. This brings intense, global effects that can be felt.

Solar Return Chart. A chart used to forecast a solar year, the period from one birthday to the next, and cast for the exact date and time at which the sun returns to the same place it was at birth.

SOLAR FLARES: A series of solar flares began erupting October 22, with a powerful X17 flare occurring on October 28. The most powerful flare ever recorded erupted on November 4, possibly as much as an X40.
