Solar Arc: The distance the Sun travels from birth position to its secondary progressed position.

 


Solar Arc Directions are extremely useful tools for the practicing astrologer. They are viable alternatives to other methods of symbolic movement of the natal chart, such as secondary progressions.

Solar Arc-The distance traveled along the ecliptic measured by the motion of the sun in one day (approximately one degree).

Solar Arc Directions are used in Cosmobiology and Uranian Astrology and are considered to be predictive on a physical level, while Secondary Progressions are thought to operate on more of an emotional or feeling level.

Solar Arc Directions - A secondary movement in Astrology which takes the daily movement of the Sun and interprets that with a year of life.

Solar Arc: An angular distance between the Natal Sun and the secondary progressed Sun that is used for a technique called solar arc directions.

Converse solar arc has Pluto at the exact same degree as converse solar return, at 28.18 Taurus. Furthermore the converse solar arc ascendant is 22.

Solar ArcSystem of progression where the distance travelled by the Sun in the progressed horoscope (calculated at a rate of 1 degree = 1 year) from its natal position is also assigned to the other planets.

For the astrologers out there, remember that at age 45, by Solar Arc, all the planets are in semi-square to their natal placements. At this point the "strain" of living becomes apparent....

2 I learned this technique in a workshop about secondary progressions, but I suppose you could try it with Solar arcs, tertiary progressions, Solar returns, even horary charts!

Several methods are used to calculate progressions, including solar arc, mean sun, time method, and Naibod in R.A. Types of progressions include Day for a Year or Secondary, Degree for a Year, Tertiary, and Minor.

Transits, progressions, planetary returns and solar arcs are the most commonly used.
