Yod: An aspect configuration in which two planets in sextile both form a quincunx (inconjunct) with the same third planet; it is given a karmic connotation. Sometimes called the Finger of God.

 


Yod
The Yod being its astrological name, it is also known as the Finger of God or the Finger of Fate. By its configuration it points to and therefore emphasises one particular planet.

Yod
Aspect configuration. Three planets in a long triangle, with one planet (apex) in Quincunx aspect to the other two, and the other two in Sextile aspect to each other.

Yod - A powerful aspect.

Yod or the Finger of God Aspect planetary chart pattern that is formed by three planets. Planets A and B are inconjunct (quincunx) and planets A and C are inconjunct (quincunx) and finally planet B and C are sextile each other.

YOD:
Also known as the Finger of Fate or the Finger of God, Yod is the name given to two planets in opposition connected to two other planets, one by semi-sextiles and the other by quincunxes.

Yod: a quincunx-sextile-quincunx aspect triangle; this can be up-stepped with an opposition from its apex to the midpoint on the sextile, bringing in two added semisextile aspects.

Yod -A Yod occurs in a chart when two planets sextile one another and quincunx a third, creating a feeling of fatedness or lessons to be learned.

This is a quincunx-sextile-quincunx. It features a crisis of - and a need for - perspective, in which the energies of the two sextiled planets find difficulty integrating with that of the apex, quincunxed planet.

Finger of Fate (aka Yod)
The Finger of Fate, indicates special and important life purpose, creates a deep aspiration to attune to your reason for being here and a strong motivational drive to complete your tasks and accomplish your goals.

Several of configurations formed by major aspects are the T-Square, the Grand Cross, the Grand Trine, a Stellium, and the Yod.

This is actually a formidable aspect and has a lot written about it, especially when two of them aspect a single point in a natal chart, something called the Yod, or “Finger of God,' or “Finger of Fate.' How dramatic.

An interesting point to consider is that when Chiron was first photographed on 18 October 1977, there was a Yod (Finger of God) configuration focussed on Chiron from Libran Venus and Sagittarian Juno.

Aspect Configurations: Patterns of aspected Planets, such as a Stellium, Grand Trine, Grand Cross, T-Square, or Yod. These patterns point to major issues, talents, and challenges within one's nature.

Harmonic Syndrome: three or more planets mutually in an aspect pattern of the same harmonic, like the grand Trine, the T-square, the Grand Cross, the Yod, the Grand Hexagram, or five planets each in septile to each other.

A T-Square can become a Grand Square, and a sextile can become a Yod. This can also happen in relation to other people and their planets can form larger aspect patterns with yours.

Focal Point: Any point in a horoscope where several influences converge or disperse, such as the position of the squared planet in a T-square formation, the action point in a yod, the handle of a bucket, etc. See also T-square.
