In the Central Time Zone time is regulated to the 90th meridian which is 6 hours earlier than Greenwich. In the Mountain Time Zone timepieces are governed according to the 105th meridian, 7 HOURS earlier than Greenwich Mean Time.
Time Zones. A system of Standard Time meridians or zones which was introduced in the 19th century to standardize time throughout the world. In this system, all clocks in cities within each zone were set to the same time or zone time.
one bases his calculations on that time meridian, instead of the zero meridian, correcting zone time to local time by subtracting 4m for each degree of longitude W., or adding it for each degree of Long. E., of the 75th meridian .
You need to find out if there is/was Daylight Saving Time at the date on the year in question and then simply subtract one hour from your clock time to get true zone time.
In modern use, apparent solar time must be corrected to zone time by compensating for the equation of time and the difference in longitude from the center of the time zone.
