ACAMAR (Theta Eridani). Eridanus, the River, the embodiment of the Greek's "River Ocean," unlike real rivers has two ends.

Acamar is a binary star system. The primary, Acamar A, is an A4III normal giant. This star is much hotter than the sun and white in color. Even though the smaller star is technically a dwarf, both stars are larger in mass and radius than our sun.

89 Azha (?) corruption of Persian آشيانه āšiyāne The (ostrich) nest:* (θ Eri) Acamar - double 3.89, 4.35 ākhir an-nahr = "Last of the river" [named before Achernar was added], with a handwriting misread rn - m.

The names of the main named stars, Achernar (α Eri), and Acamar, (θ Eri) are sufficiently similar to raise some questions, and in classical times Acamar, on the southern edge of Fornax was indeed the end of the celestial river, ...

Other notable stars in Eridanus include [3682] theta Eridani or Acamar ("the last of the river"), a binary pair of blue-white stars 120 light-years distant, [3681] gamma Eridani or Zaurak ("the boat"), a yellow star with an apparent magnitude of 2.

Curiously theta Eridani bears nearly the same name, Acamar. This is a variation on Achernar since this star was once the river's terminus and it then bore the name now carried by alpha Eridani.

Eridanus originally ended with the star Acamar, which is the last bright star visible to people living in northern latitudes. As sailors began to travel to the Southern Hemisphere, the constellation was continued to the star Achernar.
