Algieba is the brightest of the Sickle stars that are above Regulus; Adhafera is just above Algieba. At the top sits Rasalas, and down and to the right of Rasalas, at the front of the Sickle, is Algenubi.

Regulus, Î- Leonis, and γ Leonis, together with the fainter stars ζ Leo (Adhafera), μ Leo (Ras Elased Borealis), and ε Leo (Ras Elased Australis), make up the asterism known as the Sickle. These stars represent the head and the mane of the lion.

[4812] zeta Leonis, also known as Adhafera ("the braid" or "the curl"), is a yellow-white giant 260 light-years distant.
