Nearly all calendar systems group consecutive days into "months" and also into "years".

The ancient Egyptians began numbering their years when the Sirius rose at the same place as the . The was the first solar calendar and contained 365 days. These were divided into 12 30-day months and five days of festival (Neugebauer 1969).

The calendar is one of the most important creations of a society. An accurate means to tell the passage of time, record events, and to forecast events, necessitates the creation of a sense of time and a means to measure that time.
This Calendar Program allows you to get a calendar for an arbitrary year in the United States and England (if you submit it with no entry it will return the calendar for the present year, by default).
A typical Calendar Round date such as 8 Cauac 13 Zip shows the day 8 Cauac of the Tzolkin cycle with 13 Zip month date of the Haab.

It is useful for astronomical observations as it saves confusion with other calendars. The starting date chosen was arbitrary but far enough back in time for there to be no astronomical records prior to then.
Meteor Shower:
A display of meteors related to one another by motion in parallel path. A list of meteor showers can be found in the meteor shower calendar sorted for each month of the year (by G. Kronk). A very brief overview is available, too.
According to the Hawaiian Calendar, Kaelo is the "Dripping Wet Moon" month. However, many other cultures have defined the Moon when lit on the bottom as the "dry moon" since in that configuration, the Moon is "holding in the water".
