These names can be used when one wants to explain the cause of the seasons.
A common student answer for the cause of the seasons is that "the Earth tips toward the Sun in the Summer, . . .".
But fact 2 seems to eliminate this as the cause of the seasons. People drive their cars and play their stereos all year round, and it has little effect on the seasons. Indeed, the seasons took place long before people affected the climate.
