Delta Scuti stars are interesting because unlike their larger Cepheid cousins, they often pulsate in what are called nonradial modes. If you've ever had a course on spherical harmonics, I just mean that the azimuthal quantum number is greater than 0.
DELTA SCT (Delta Scuti). Stars look so rock-solid in the nighttime sky, the constellations they make wheeling perpetually overhead the same ones Homer saw when he composed the Iliad and Odyssey.

Vega is a Delta Scuti type of pulsating variable star (over 0.1903 days) whose slight variations have been a matter of debate since their detection in 1918 by Paul Guthnick (1879-1947) and Richard Prager (1883-1945) (Vasil'yev et al, 1989).

X Caeli is a delta Scuti variable, ranging from 6.3 to 6.4 every 3h 14.7m.
These spectral type A stars vary by about 0.2 - 2 magnitudes over a period of several hours to a day or more. Their brightness is greatest when their radii are at their maximum. = Delta Scuti variables = ...
It is an an A-class star and a Delta Scuti type variable, with slight variations in brightness every few hours.
A type of pulsating variable that is very similar to a Delta Scuti star but has a greater amplitude (up to about 1.2 magnitude) and a period of 1 to 5 hours. The prototype, located in the constellation Vela, 2.
Caph is a variable star of Delta Scuti type as well. The brightness fluctuates by about 0.03 magnitudes with a period of 2.4 hours. See Burnham for a detail discussion of the Delta Scuti stars. Other Designations For This Star Flamsteed ...

A group of late A-type and early F-type stars with very weak CaII lines. Some stars of this group are Delta Scuti variables (dwarf Cepheids or AI Vel type objects). [JJ95] Delta () Function ...
Pulsating stars in this part of the instability strip that intersects the upper part of the main sequence are called Delta Scuti variables.
