Dorado is a small constellation in the southern hemisphere. Its name is Spanish for "dolphinfish.

Created in 1603 by Johann Bayer from information gathered by European sailors. Dorado represents not the goldfish kept as pets, but a type of fish that can be found in the seas of the Southern Hemisphere.
