Eccentricity of Orbit
The habitable zone around a star was first developed for roughly circular planetary orbits, where the eccentricity of the orbit is close to zero (e~ 0).
Its great eccentricity of orbit and its great orbital speed provided one of the important tests of Einstein's general theory of relativity.
