Epsilon Indi (ε Ind / ε Indi) is a star approximately 11.83 light years from Earth's solar system.

Epsilon Sagittarii (ε Sgr / ε Sagittarii) is a binary star that lies 144.64 light-years distant in the constellation Sagittarius. It has a faint, 14th magnitude companion, Epsilon Sagittarii B, 32 arcseconds distant.

EPSILON SCO (Epsilon Scorpii). Though bright, second magnitude (2.29), in most other constellations Epsilon Sco would have a prominent place and probably a proper name. Here, in one of the grandest patterns of the sky, Scorpius, it has neither.

Avior (Epsilon Carinae)
The third brightest star in the constellation Carina, a spectroscopic binary consisting of a main sequence B star and a giant K star, separated by just 0.02".

Epsilon Aurigae is currently being eclipsed by a companion object with a dusty disc, as illustrated in this artist's concept. The dark phase will persist for the next 18 months.

Epsilon Eridani

Epsilon Virginis is named Vindemiatrix, from the Latin meaning ‘grape-gatherer' or ‘vintager', because its first visible rising before the Sun in August marked the beginning of each year's vintage.

Epsilon Eri is believed to be a young star, slghtly less massive than the Sun. It is an active star with a strong magnetic field and believed to be surrounded by dusty material of approximately solar system dimensions.

The number of spectral lines that can be produced is vast given the permutations of atoms, molecules and orbital transitions possible.

The epsilon ring is surprisingly deficient in particles smaller than about the size of a beach ball. This may be due to atmospheric drag from the planet's extended hydrogen atmosphere, which probably siphons smaller particles and dust from the ring.

Enif(epsilon pegasi) is a double star resolvable in small telescopes. they are a 2.39 magnitude supergiant and a 9 magnitude companion.
Globular cluster M15 is very bright and nice to view in binoculars or small telescopes.

[443] epsilon Aquilae, is a triple star system with an orange K-type giant for a primary. Its atmosphere is heavy with Barium, so it is often referred to as the Barium star.

The observations of Epsilon Aurigae were performed during the star's darkening during 2008 and 2009 by the "Center for High Angular Resolution (CHARA)" array at the Mount Wilson Observatory in California, operated by Georgia State University.

obliquity of the ecliptic (symbol ε) The angle between the plane of the ecliptic (the plane of the earth's orbit) and the plane of the celestial equator.

In one planetary system called Epsilon Andromedae, Spitzer found distinct temperature variations that correlated to the period of the planet's orbit.

All of this was overthrown when in 1964 the experiment of Jim Cronin and Val Fitch showed that a small fraction of the time (about one case in every 500, a fraction called epsilon) the K2 turns into a K1, which subsequently decays into two pions.

Uranus' outermost and most massive ring, called the Epsilon Ring, is only about 100 kilometers wide and probably less than 100 meters thick. The other ten dark and narrow rings have a combined mass less than the Epsilon Ring.

The main rings, in order of increasing radius, are named Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon, and they range from 44,000 to 51,000 km from the planet's center.

BAYER NAME - Combination of a Greek letter and the name of a constellation (α Centauri, ε Orionis etc.) used to identify bright stars. The system was first used by Johann Bayer in 1603.

A gas-giant planet orbits the star Epsilon Eridani in this artist's concept. Texas astronomers recently confirmed the planet, which is the closest extrasolar planet yet discovered, at a distance of 10.5 light-years.

In each , every star is classified using the Bayer system by assigning then Greek letters (alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta, eta, theta, iota, kappa, lambda, mu, nu, xi, omicron, pi, rho, sigma, tau, upsilon, phi, chi, psi, and omega), ...

Avior (Epsilon Car)
Turais (Iota Car)
Carina was originally part of the large constellation Argo Navis.

The Greek alphabet has 24 lettters, alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta, eta, theta, iota, kappa, lambda, mu, nu, xi, omicron, pi, rho, sigma, tau, upsilon, phi, chi, psi, and omega.

The brightest ring is termed the Epsilon ring. Voyager 2 found two small shepherd moons for it, one just inside and one just outside (adjacent image (Ref); the white dots inside the yellow circles).

The Arabs designated four stars Epsilon, Delta, Eta, and Omicron Canis Majoris as Al `Adhara, meaning The Virgins. In modern astronomy the Arabic phrase has been abbreviated to "Adhara" (or "Adara") and applied to the Epsilon star only.

In the Balmer series the last letter used is epsilon. The following lines are numbered according to their upper level, so the next line after H epsilon is H 8. 'Limit' designates the wavelength for which n = .

For example, the globular cluster M15 is to the right of Epsilon Pegasi, as seen in a sky map. My star hopping path would be to start by aiming the telescope at Epsilon then slowly move my telescope right until I find M15.

Epsilon Bootes, also known as Izar, is a beautiful double star made up of a mag 2.5 primary and a mag 5.0 secondary star. The pair have beautifully contrasting colors of yellow and green.

Named Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon (starting from the innermost ring), they form a 9400-km- (5840-mi-) wide belt extending to 51,300 km (31,860 mi) from the planet's center.

Bayer designated this star "epsilon CANIS MAJOR", the fifth letter of Greek alphabet! Perhaps Bayer was experiencing some cloud cover that night. Maybe he did these things to make astronomy more difficult! ...

They have orbits on either side of the last ring, Epsilon, which keeps it narrow.

Although it has the Bayer designation "epsilon", it is the second brightest and not the fifth brightest star in Bootes. It is a beautiful double star half way up the "cone" on the left side.

It appears that this moon is a shepherd moon for Uranus' Epsilon ring. A shepherd moon is a moon that orbits a planet on the edge of its rings.

The northernmost of the six, Epsilon Hydrae, is a quintuple star - a system of five stars. M48 is a fairly faint, but large, open cluster of about 80 stars easily observed with binoculars.
