Galactic Coordinates
A system of coordinates based on the mean plane of the Galaxy, which is inclined about 63° to the celestial equator.
GALACTIC COORDINATES (l, b) - Coordinate system based on the plane of the Galaxy, it is centered on the Sun with the zero point of longitude and latitude pointing directly at the galactic centre.
Since galactic coordinates are spherical coordinates they do not define a specific point in the galaxy but rather a ray extending from the center of the galactic equator.
