" In older tradition, the top star (Almaaz) is excluded, the term belonging to the bottom two, in Latin known as the "Haedi," the eastern (and faintest of the set) one now called Haedus I, the western Haedus II.

 


The three stars Epsilon, Zeta and Eta Aurigae are called Haedi (the Kids).
Notable features
Two peculiar binary stars, ε Aurigae and ζ Aurigae. ε Aurigae is one of the strangest binary stars.

The two offspring Amalthaea bore at the same time, also known as the Haedi ("the kids"), are said to be represented by [720] eta and [722] zeta Aurigae, the stars neighbouring Capella.

Aratus it represented the goat Amaltheia, who suckled the infant Zeus on the island of Crete and was placed in the sky as a mark of gratitude, along with the two kids she bore at the same time. The kids, frequently known by their Latin name of Haedi ...
