Inflationary epoch
The inflationary epoch is the term used in physical cosmology to describe the brief time in the very early universe when, according to inflation theory, the universe was expanding exponentially.

I have studied a lot about the inflation theory (for example Allan Guth and others). Could you tell me where I can find the newest info on that subject?
The Answer

Inflation resolves several problems in the Big Bang cosmology that were pointed out in the 1970s.

Inflation
(a) The idea that, when it was a fraction of a second old, the universe expanded dramatically. If inflation is correct, then the mass density of the universe () should be 1.

inflation Short period of extremely rapid cosmic expansion early in the history of the universe. During inflation, the universe swelled in size by a factor of 10 to the 50th power.

period of rapid expansion (inflation) 10-35 - 10-24 s

Inflation, an early period of cosmic hyper-expansion, may be the key to proving the universe has six extra dimensions.

Inflationary theory, formulated in the 1980s, resolves major difficulties in Gamow's original formulation by incorporating recent advances in particle physics.

Another school of thought holds that no singularity occurs, because of a bubble-like local inflation in the interior of the collapsing star.

Second, because it created money that did not exist, it increased inflationary pressures, a fact observed by David Hume in the 18th century.

The current theoretical belief (because it is predicted by the theory of cosmic inflation) is that the Universe is flat, ...

In addition, the era of inflation erased many of the signatures of the conditions -- in fact, the inflation theory was invented just to explain the lack of such clues.

This was one piece of evidence leading to the acceptance of inflation.

(In a balloon or a basketball the gas pressure provides for the "inflation." You know you can increase the pressure by increasing the number of gas molecules, i.e., pumping in more air.
