Irregular Galaxy
An irregular galaxy is the catchall name given to any galaxy that does not neatly fit into one of the categories of the Hubble classification scheme.

Any galaxy which cannot be classified as either spiral or elliptical is called an irregular galaxy.
Finally, the constellation contains an irregular galaxy, IC 10, first discovered by Lewis Swift in 1887. It is somewhat difficult to study because, located near the Milky Way plane, it is obscured by interstellar matter.
Anything that does not fall into either the elliptical or the spiral categories is tossed into the irregular galaxy category. The galaxies in this category are not well-ordered, like the spiral and the elliptical galaxies.
