Beta Herculis, a binary with a G-type giant for its primary component, is the brightest star in the constellation. It is also known as Kornephoros ("club bearer"). [4125] delta Herculis has the traditional name Sarin.

Hercules seems to be kneeling on the head of Draco. His outstreched hand is holding a bow and the arrow Sagitta is flying towards the two birds, the Eagle, Aquila and the Swan, Cygnus.
