Astronomy M93M95

data taken at ultraviolet wavelengths by NASA's Galaxy Evolution Explorer, infrared data from the Two Micron All Sky Survey, 2MASS and the Spitzer Space Telescope, and extra optical data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, they discovered that M94 ...

M94 = NGC4736 ( 12h 50.9m +41°07´, 8.1 mag. )

This spiral galaxy in Canes Venatici was found by Mechain in 1781. Messier observed it on March 24, 1781.

M94 is another spiral, seen practically face-on, and sometimes described as "comet-like". This is a very compact circular spiral and very bright (8.1 magnitude).

Next, we will turn our attention to M94. You can find this elongated galaxy 66 degrees above the horizon, and about 2 1/2 degrees north of M63. Brighter than the last object we viewed, M94 appears nearly as large.

In the constellation of Leo, the lion, can be found an interesting spiral galaxy known as M94. This galaxy has an extremely bright inner region, surrounded by a ring of active star-forming regions.

The Whirlpool Nebula (M51), the Sab galaxy (M94) and the globular cluster M3 (magnitude 6) can be found in Canis Venatici. The Canes Venaticids occurs from January 13 - January 30.

The Whirlpool Nebula (M51), the Sab galaxy (M94), the Sunflower Galaxy (M63), and the globular cluster M3 (magnitude 6) can be found in Canis Venatici. The Canes Venaticids occurs from January 13 - January 30.

The Sab galaxy M94 shows an extremely bright core. In the outer regions star formation is still taking place. This galaxy is seen head-on and resembles a comet in smaller scopes.
Another interesting spiral galaxy is M106 (Sbp).
