NCC 7000 is called "North American Nebula" because of its shape. It's a bright slightly greenish emission nebula.

NGC 7000 or the North American Nebula got its name because of its resemblance to the continent. It is located to the east of [3967] Deneb.

The North American Nebula is located just a few degrees east of Deneb, and is named for it's resemblance to the North American continent.
