[7526] sigma Scorpii is also known as Al Niyat ("the arteries"), a name it shares with [7524] tau Scorpii. It is another multiple star, 735 light-years distant. Its primary component is a blue-white giant classified as a Beta Cephei variable.

It is flanked by two stars that together are Al Niyat, the one to the upper right Sigma Scorpii, the one to the lower left Tau Scorpii.

Al Niyat
The name Al Niyat comes from the Arabic ا"نيا- an-niyāţ meaning "the arteries [of the scorpion]", and refers to two stars which flank Antares, the scorpion's heart:
