Vogt-Russell Theorem
If the pressure, the opacity, and the energy generation rate are functions of the local values of density, temperature and the chemical composition only, ...

Ruthenium
A transition metal that occurs naturally with platinum. It forms alloys with platinum that are used in electrical contacts. Ruthenium is also used in jewelry alloyed with palladium.
Symbol: Ru; m.p.

This became known as the Vogt-Russell theorem; named after Heinrich Vogt and Henry Norris Russell. By this theorem, once a star's chemical composition and its position on the main sequence is known, so too is the star's mass and radius.
