Zeta Leonis

Astronomy Zeta HerZeta Lyr

Zeta Leonis is "Aldhafera", the meaning is uncertain;
Epsilon Leonis and mu Leonis go under the name of "Al Ashfar", the eyebrows.
Delta Leonis is "Zosma", a Greek word meaning girdle.

Together with [4812] zeta Leonis and [4814] eta Leonis, Algieba is part of the celestial sickle that marks the lion's head. [4812] zeta Leonis, also known as Adhafera ("the braid" or "the curl"), is a yellow-white giant 260 light-years distant.

The stars gamma Leonis, zeta Leonis, mu Leonis, epsilon Leonis, and eta Leonis form the lion's neck, with epsilon Leonis being of the third magnitude.
The stars mu Leonis, kappa Leonis, lambda Leonis, and epsilon Leonis form the head of the lion.
