Absolute Ceiling
Along with service ceiling and combat ceiling, absolute ceiling is a term used to describe the maximum density altitude that a particular aircraft can operate under Standard Air conditions.

Absolute accuracy

Absolute accuracy. The ability to determine present position in space independently, and is most often used by pilots.

Absolute: A standard, fixed reference, as opposed to moving reference.
Acceleration East: Aircraft acceleration in true east direction.
Acceleration North: Aircraft acceleration in true north direction.

ABSOLUTE ALTITUDE - The measureable height of an aircraft above the actual terrain.
ABSOLUTE CEILING - The maximum altitude above sea level at which an aircraft can maintain level flight under Standard Air conditions.

Absolute accuracy. The ability to determine present position in space independently, and is most often used by pilots.
Absolute altitude. The actual distance between an aircraft and the terrain over which it is flying.

ABSOLUTE CEILING - A less often used term - the highest altitude an airplane can sustain level flight, or altitude above which the cabin pressurization system can no longer maintain a sufficient oxygen level for passengers and crew, ...

Absolute ceiling. The greatest height which can be reached by an aerodyne or aerostat in Standard Atmosphere. The theoretical height at which the rate of climb is zero.

ABSOLUTE CEILING - The maximum altitude above sea level at which a heavier-than-air craft can be maintained in level flight.

ACLS - (I) Air cushion landing system, or (II) automatic carrier landing system.

Fixed reference, as opposed to moving reference.

Absolute ceiling is the maximum altitude an aircraft can attain. At this point the cruise speed, best climb speed and stall speed all equalize. The aircraft becomes unstable and controls are unable to stabilize flight.

An absolute requirement is that you hold the POH recommended approach speed. If it says 85 mph, that’s not 82 and it’s not 88.

This is absolutely a fantastic helicopter, and of all the helicopters I've ever flown, it's my favorite. It's even nicer than the S76 I got to fly in Hawaii. I'll tell you about that soon...

Manifold absolute pressure (together with rpm gives a measure of engine power)

but rather absolute angle of attack minus incidence. This quantity has a simple physical interpretation: it is the angle at which the relative wind hits the fuselage.

Sorry, but there's absolutely no way this can happen.
Yes, I realize that some folks suggest it's possible for both pilots to simultaneously log all the flight time as PIC here but the FAA doesn't seem to think so (and they are the folks who count in ...

Proper lighting is absolutely essential when painting. For best results try to position your lights 45 degrees to the surface being painted. By looking into the glare of a light you will detect heavy and light areas of material.

Any splinters or cracks in the blade may result disastrously; and the propeller should be removed unless both blades are absolutely sound.

However, air crews were required not to fire any missiles without having visually identified the target first, to make absolutely sure they were not an ally, thus losing this technological advantage.

CL and CD are not expressed by any physical unit, they are rather absolute numbers obtained from either wind tunnel tests or derived mathematically.
Initially both CL and CD increase as the angle of attack increases.

Whatever field is used either temporarily permanently by the pilot should be absolutely familiar to him over every inch of its surface.

On a cruising Hovercraft I would recommend that you give your hull absolute priority in aspect of strength - after that you can be greedy on the engine aspect.

You need to find time to hit the books every week and plan on getting to the airport an absolute minimum of three times a month. The general rule is that, for optimum efficiency in your training, you should fly at least twice a week.

High pitch attitude is not an absolute indication of proximity to a stall. Some airplanes are capable of vertical flight with a corresponding low angle of attack. Most airplanes are quite capable of stalling at a level or near level pitch attitude.

The absolute celing is the highest altitude at which the aircraft can maintain level flight.
CFB: Canadian Forces Base.

What should be made absolutely clear is that you must keep your altitude at about 500 feet. You'll be safe (at least as far as altitude is concerned) even down to 400 feet.

It's always fun to fly your Air Hogs helicopter alone, but when a friend is flying simultaneously and you get to battle each other with lasers, it's absolutely exciting.

Our Husky banked without effort, and the spadeless ailerons felt absolutely buttery in the cold Wyoming air. Control pressures were well harmonized in all three axes, though the aircraft used a good dose of right rudder in the climb.

Second, Steve and his staff absolutely love what they are doing so give him a call. They aren't there because it's a requirement and something they have to do.

Some will do nothing and move out of the way when its absolutely necessary, only to land a few meters ahead. Other will try to out fly the aircraft, turning in the last second to the left or right.

As I am retaking this course I have now done the aforementioned vectoring exercise a second time. It was absolute pish, as a Scot would say.

The aim of the climb performance experiment is to determine the maximum rates of climb, and the corresponding speeds at different altitudes, and to extrapolate the service and absolute ceilings for airplane.

Although a four-to-one ratio was exactly what the Luftwaffe would have needed to make an impact on the war, the absolute scale of their success was minor as it represented only one per cent of the attacking force.

One should assume that absolutely nothing will be on board an air ambulance except the stretcher and normal aircraft seats unless coordinated in advance. The Leg that has a patient onboard is known as a "lifeguard flight".

great point about Walker's work as a whole is its suggestiveness; he did not hesitate to state that the 'art' of flying is as truly mechanical as that of rowing a boat, and he had some conception of the necessary mechanism, together with an absolute ...

An aircraft's service ceiling is the density altitude (which see) at which its maximum rate of climb is no greater than 100 feet per minute. Its absolute ceiling is the highest altitude at which it can maintain level flight.

When pilots say things like, "it's an easy approach" or "I had to take the approach" they generally are talking about an instrument approach. Because they're designed to be flown absolutely blind, IAPs are time-consuming.

The special purpose vehicle that issues an EETC owns the aircraft and leases it to the airline on a finance lease (usually fixed rate). The airline's obligation to pay rent is absolute, and since it is not the true owner, ...
