Air Taxi
An air taxi is an aircraft is governed by FAR (federal aviation regulations) Part 135 unlike its counterpart Commercial aviation which is governed by FAR part 121.

AIR TAXI - An aircraft operator who conducts operations for hire or compensation in accordance with FAR Part 135 in an aircraft with 30 or fewer passenger seats and a payload capacity of 7,500# or less.
AIR TAXI/COMMUTER - Operations performed by operators of aircraft holding an air taxi certificate. This category includes commuter airline operations (excluding certificated commuter airlines), mail carriers under contract with the U.S.

AIR TAXI- Used to describe a helicopter/VTOL aircraft movement conducted above the surface but normally not above 100 feet AGL. The aircraft may proceed either via hover taxi or flight at speeds more than 20 knots.
It is often used to abort takeoffs, stop if something blocks the helicopter flight path, or simply to terminate an air taxi maneuver.
