Aircraft Systems:
Carburettor ice
Induction ice and alternate air source
Static air intake and alternate static source
Antennas - glide slope, marker beacon ...

EFIS: Electronic Flight Instrument System, in which multi-function CRT displays replace traditional instruments for providing flight, navigation and aircraft systems information, forming a so-called "glass cockpit".

A Class 2 EFB system can be attached to a structural-mounting bracket to ensure that it does not interfere with other aircraft systems.

In between these scheduled maintenance checks, computers onboard the aircraft monitor the performance of aircraft systems and record such things as abnormal temperatures and fuel consumption.

An FDR will record information about the performance of various aircraft systems, as well as the aircraft's speed, altitude, heading and other flight parameters.

Run-up - A routine procedure for testing aircraft systems by running one or more engines at a high power setting.

About 10 years ago, aircraft systems and construction methods and materials became more complex, and an A&P really needed an associate's degree in order to be prepared for the position's challenges.

SYSTEM STRATEGIC NAVIGATION- Military activity accomplished by navigating along a preplanned route using internal aircraft systems to maintain a desired track.

Flight Attendants -- considered a member of the crew who has been formally trained in aircraft systems, and cabin emergencies, whose duties include serving meals and assisting passengers.

Flight Control Panel - Panel of controls that allow crew to interface with aircraft systems.
FMA
Flight Mode Annunciator ...

Checks made using auxiliary power or testing equipment to simulate, insofar as possible, actual conditions under which the system is to operate. These checks are made to ensure that aircraft systems or components disturbed during an inspection or ...

In more advanced aircraft systems it can provide the relative wind, the direction of wind with respect to the movement of the plane, ground speed, true airspeed, and estimated time of arrival at its destination.

Be sure to get a 'flat' tip for it (approx 1/8" wide). Pin tips generally don't apply enough heat, quickly enough, to the area needed for the type joints one will usually encounter in aircraft systems.
