AIRMET ZULU (Icing) Moderate icing, freezing levels
In order for an airmet to be issued, the applicable conditions must be widespread. By definition, "widespread" means that the applicable area covers at least 3000 square miles.

AIRMET
A weather advisory indicating a hazard to flight for all aircraft over a given area. For example, when prevailing low ceilings are forecast or observed over a given area an IFR AIRMET is issued.

AIRMET: Aircraft's Meteorological Information. A type of weather advisory regarding certain weather conditions (turbulence, icing, low visiblity) which could pose a threat to only smaller types of aircraft.

Airman's Meteorological Information (AIRMET): An in-flight weather advisory concerning weather phenomena of less severity than that covered by SIGMETs, which are potentially hazardous to certain aircraft, e.g.

The letters 'S' and 'T' are reserved for AIRMET's. No same to weather phenomena across the country can have the same two letter identifiers at the same time so different letters are reserved for different phenomena.
