ATC (Air Traffic Control) The FAA service providing separation services to participating airborne traffic and clearances to land, take off or taxi at airports with a control tower.

Air traffic Control (ATC)
Air Traffic Control is a service provided through the FAA to direct traffic on the ground and in the air.

Air Traffic Control (ATC)
A service operated by the appropriate authority to promote safe, orderly and expeditious flow in air traffic.
Cargo load factor ...

ATC at Work
The VFR conditions responsibility to see and avoid rests with you, the pilot. ATC's responsibility, authority and accountability for separation exists only under IFR conditions for IFR vs. IFR flights.

ATC Facilities
The Air Traffic Control (ATC) system is run by the Federal Aviation Administration, an agency of the U.S. Department of Transportation.

ATC: Air Traffic Control
AUCTION: An award sale through which program members use their miles to bid against each other for a one-time only award that often involves attending special events or meeting famous people.

ATC - (1) Aircraft license as Approved Type Certificate, SEE ATC; (2) AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL.
ATIS SEE AUTOMATIC TERMINAL INFORMATION SERVICE ...

ATC (Air Traffic Control) - A service operated by appropriate authority to monitor and regulate all air traffic departing and arriving in the United States, as well as all ground traffic within immediate airport boundaries.

ATC: Air Traffic Control.
Atmospheric Data: Environmental data related to the atmosphere at some point of interest.

AUTOMATED DEPENDENT SURVEILLENC BROADCAST (ADS-B) - A system by which airplanes constantly broadcast their location, speed, flight plan, type of aircraft and other information.

ATC Facilities
The United States air traffic control (ATC) system is managed and operated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Transportation.

ATC (Air Traffic Control)
Air Traffic Control is provided by ground-based controllers who direct aircraft on the ground and in the air.

ATC - Air traffic control.

AUTOGYRO - An aircraft with an unpowered rotary wing, which autorotates as the machine is propelled through the air by a conventional power plant.

ATC can determine much about a pilot by how well he utilizes the system and the required communications. Always admit when you have a problem.

ATC Clearance (ACL) , Aircraft Communication Messages (ACM), and Check Mike (AMC) services are supported including the automatic uplink of the SSR transponder code into the cockpit.

ATC is not required to keep VFR traffic separated from other VFR traffic. If their workload permits and the pilot asks, ATC will inform pilots when there is other traffic in the area. I make extensive use of this service, but do recognize its limits.

ATC has radars. They can find you real fast, and give you a vector toward wherever you want to go.

ATC REQUESTS- Used to prefix an ATC request when it is relayed to an aircraft by other than an air traffic controller.
ATCSCC- AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM COMMAND CENTER ...

3 x call, ATC, callsign, nature of problem, position, heading, altitude, xpndr set to 7700
Fly pattern
Fly from 1500' to 1000' point, maintain best glide speed, monitor descent, keep eye on landing site ...

It is usually ATC's responsibility to position IFR aircraft (rather than VFR aircraft, which navigate their own way visually) so that they can 'establish' on the ILS - to get lined up with the ILS 'localiser' which marks the runway centreline.

ATC - Air Traffic Control. The people in control towers (at airports that have them) to regulate takeoffs, landings, and planes moving through their general area.
ATI and ATR - ARINC from factors.
ATM - Air traffic management.

Authorization by ATC for a pilot to conduct an instrument approach. The type of instrument approach for which a clearance and other pertinent information is provided in the approach clearance when required.
Approach Speed ...

In VFR conditions, ATC works around that by relying on pilots to see nearby traffic, but when the clouds roll in, they're back to the five-mile rule, and traffic slows to a crawl.

ATC: Air Transport Command
ATF: Air Task Force
Atlanta: Production name for first Lockheed P-38's - AAF later adopted the British RAF term "Lightning"
ATS: Air Transport Squadron
Attitude: Aspect of aircraft's angle.

org/ ARTCC Air Route Traffic Control Center - a "long-distance" ATC facility, known more briefly as "Center" ASRS Aviation Safety Reporting System (voluntary NASA safety program) [write to: Aviation Safety Reporting System, NASA Ames Research Center, ...

However, IFR flight plans are used by air traffic control (ATC) to reserve the time and location of use for any airspace needed by the aircraft operating under IFR.

Equipment which I would immediately consider turning off would be transponders and communications radios (after telling ATC that I am doing so), landing lights, cabin fans, non-essential nav radios, interior lights, strobes, etc.

IFF - Identification Friend or Foe - a transponder fitted to all aircraft that allows it to be identified and tracked by ATC and friendly forces
ILS - Instrument Landing System ...

Air traffic facilities which provide pilot briefing, enroute communications and VFR search and rescue services, assist lost aircraft and aircraft in emergency situations, relay ATC clearances, originate Notices to Airmen, ...

Controlled Airspace - Airspace within which ATC service is provided
Control Zone - Controlled airspace extending upwards from the surface to 3,000 feet above airport elevation ...

The primary restrictions regarding flight testing are: (1) no passengers, (2) day, VFR only, (3) no operation over congested areas, (4) you must advise ATC that you are experimental, and (5) the pilot must have the appropriate ratings.

Controlled Airspace - A generic term including all airspace classes in which ATC services are available.

RADAR APPROACH CONTROL FACILITY(RAPCON)
A terminal ATC facility that uses radar and non radar capabilities to provide approach control services to aircraft arriving, departing, or transiting...

Air Traffic Control (ATC) - A service operated to promote the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic.

Service that may be provided on CTAF frequencies when normal ATC services are not available
Wake turbulence
The disturbed air behind a large aircraft ...

An ovoid-shaped pattern flown in reference to a fixed reference point. Holding patterns are assigned by ATC to provide traffic separation during peak load times.
HSI
Horizontal Situation Indicator ...

Alcohol avoidance is as critical as developing a flight plan, a good preflight inspection, obeying ATC procedures, and avoiding severe weather.

...

Rules governing flight in certain limited visibility and cloud conditions. Under IFR, an aircraft is required to be in contact with air traffic control facilities and is separated by ATC from all other IFR aircraft.

which is manufactured and marketed by ATC Chemical Corporation of Buffalo, NY. Basically, it combines the linear, non-brittle features of Airex in a broad range of densities like
Divinycell, from 3-12 lbs./cu.ft.

an airworthiness certificate, or pilot certification. Primarily single-occupant vehicles, although some two-place vehicles are authorized for training purposes. Operation of an ultralight vehicle in certain airspaces requires authorization from ATC.
