Canard Aircraft
A Canard aircraft is one in which the horizontal stabilizer and elevators are ahead of the main wing. Such aircraft still have the same controls as the conventional aircraft they are just in different places.

Canard
An aeroplane designed to fly with its tailplane in front of the wing, it also refers to a forward horizontal stabilizer. Some aircraft have canards in addition to a conventional horizontal stabilizer on the tail.

Canard The horizontal surface forward of the wing used to control pitch. It's found on very few aircraft. Also the word used to describe aircraft that have a main wing and a horizontal control surface in the nose...

CANARD - An arrangement in which the horizontal stabilizer and elevators of an aircraft are mounted in front of the main wing(s).
CAT - Clear-Air Turbulence.

CANARD - Describes an aircraft which flies tail first, with its main lift surface at the aft end of its structure.

CANTILEVER - A beam, or other structure, supported at one end only, and without external bracing.

shapes and design configurations including Canards, check here.

In a canard-type airplane, the center of mass is clearly always ahead of the main wing, but this is not what creates stability. The center of mass has to be ahead of the center of area (including the area of the canard).

How about a canard biplane! Yeah, that's the ticket! New meets old. What a great idea!
Oh, it's been done already? Oh, yeah, Orville and Wilbur. I forgot about them.

Canard - An airplane designed to have its normal horizontal tail surface on the front rather than the rear of its fuselage.
Caster - To swivel or rotate slightly.

The seaplane, the French 1910 Le CanardIn the United States, early development was carried out at Hammondsport, New York by Glenn Curtiss who had beaten Alexander Graham Bell and others in the Aerial Experiment Association.

Draw a likeness of your airplane, canard or conventional. With your 'checklist' and your diagrams, draw in the 'wires' for your left wing.

Tail-first Aeroplane: Often called a "canard", a form of aeroplane design in which the tail precedes the main supporting surfaces.
