Chassis. An archaic term often applied to the undercarriage of an aeroplane.
Chili. A dry southerly wind which blows in Tunis. Similar to the Sirocco.

 


Landing Gear, Chassis or Undercarriage.-The wheels and the struts and wires by which they are attached to the fuselage.
9. Horizontal Stabilizer or Horizontal Fin.-The horizontal fixed tail plane.
10. Vertical Stabilizer or Vertical Fin.

He had submitted drawings which showed that he had all of the five basic parts of the contemporary airplanes: wings, hull, power arrangement, tail assembly, and chassis.

The construction is uniquely modular: The entire airplane consists of a steel rolling chassis, removable aluminum wings and a single-piece fuselage that weighs a mere 100 pounds.

For the first drop a hurriedly-converted Hupmobile was used, but this soon broke down and was replaced by a Land Rover chassis fitted with hydraulic arms.
