Chord line. An imaginary straight line drawn through an airfoil from the leading edge to the trailing edge.

chord line
A line drawn from the leading edge of the wing to the trailing edge
contrail
Streaks of condensed water vapor created in the air by aircraft flying at high altitudes ...

Chordwise Balance
A point at the center of lift of the blade, along the chord line. On a model it is advisable that the blade be balanced at this point as well as along the span.

CHORD - The measurable distance between the leading and trailing edges of a wingform.
CLASS G AIRSPACE (Uncontrolled Airspace) - Airspace not designated as Class A, B, C, D or E Controlled Airspace.

Chord The "depth" of the wing, its distance from leading edge to trailing edge. One of the components used to determine wing area. May vary from root to tip.

Chord. The width of an aerofoil section, usually the wing, measured in a straight line from leading to trailing edge.

CHORD - The distance measured from the leading-to trailing-edge of an airfoil.

The chord line is a straight line connecting the leading and trailing edges of the airfoil.
The chord is the length of the chord line from leading edge to trailing edge and is the characteristic longitudinal dimension of the airfoil.

The chordis the longitudinal dimension of an airfoil section, measured from the leading edge to the trailing edge.
The span is the length of the rotor blade from the point of rotation to the tip of the blade.

The chord line is defined as the imaginary line that connects the leading edge with the trailing edge. The angle of attack is the angle between the direction of the airflow and chord line. Deflecting a flight control surface modifies the chord line.

The chord distribution should be such that with the cruise lift distribution, the distribution of lift coefficient is compatible with the section performance. Avoid high Cl's which may lead to buffet or drag rise or separation.

The chord is measured from leading edge to trailing edge and the the slot is not added but the slot is cut in the airfoil; in other words, ...

The chord line is the straight line drawn from the leading edge to the trailing edge.
The term camber in general means “bend”.

The wing chord may be varied along the span of the wing, for both structural and aerodynamic reasons.

elevator chord
The variation of stick force with an initially trimmed tab setting is proportional to the maneuver margin stick free.

Chord.-Distance between the entering edge and trailing edge of a wing measured on a straight line touching front and rear bottom points of a wing.
45. Camber.-The depth of the curve given to a sustaining surface such as a wing.

The angle between the wing chord line and the stabiliser chord line is called
the Longitudinal Dihedral (LD) or decalage.
For a given centre of gravity, there is a LD angle that results in a certain
trimmed flight speed and pitch attitude.

Some terms that are related to an airfoil are: mean camber line, chord line, chord, maximum thickness, aerodynamic center, and center of pressure.

PA-28 Cherokees have stubby, constant-chord wing planforms similar in shape to another product with roots in Pennsylvania - the Hershey chocolate bar.

The chordwise distribution of lift, at high angles of attack, will not normally be represented by a heap of sand, since dry sand slumps to approximately 45 deg- forming a triangular load distribution with a centrally-located center of gravity.

The small, short-chord flaps are relatively ineffective except at lowering the nose during approach. Landings aren't nearly the challenge you may expect, but you do need to stay off your toes during landings.

If any of the foregoing strikes a responsive chord and you've decided to lower parts cost while increasing service and quality, the first step is to get organized. There are dozen's of suppliers out there and no one of them is "best".

I have also used a relatively thick wing chord on these designs to provide high lift. The thick wing chord, combined with a relatively short wing span, also provides maximum strength and low weight.

You can change the chord, span, or the wing area. The ratio of the span to the chord is called the Aspect Ratio and this parameter also has an effect on the lift of the wing.

Angle of Attack Angle between the chord line of an aerofoil and the relative airstream
AOPA Aircraft Owners & Pilot's Association
Apron An area of the aerodrome designed to facilitate the safe movements of aircraft on the ground ...

Angle of attack. The acute angle formed between the chord line of an airfoil and the direction of the air striking the airfoil.
Anti-ice. Preventing the accumulation of ice on an aircraft structure via a system designed for that purpose.

ANGLE OF ATTACK The angle between the airfoil's chord line and the direction in which the aircraft is currently moving. The amount of lift generated by a wing is directly related to the angle of attack.

The aft part is narrow, tapered and called the trailing edge. A reference line often used in discussing airfoils is the chord or chord line, an imaginary straight line joining the leading and trailing edges.

Definition: The angle of attack is the angle between the chord of the airfoil (determined by wing form) and the incoming relative wind.

In general, the term ducted fan is applied to configurations of small disk area, high rpm, and low aspect ratio (long, narrow ducts), while a shrouded propeller has larger diameter, lower disk loading, lower rpm, and a high aspect ratio (short chord) ...
