Cleared for takeoff, you are on your way. Once in the air, out of the traffic pattern, and in level flight at approximately 1,000 feet AGL, you and your friend relax and begin to enjoy the beautiful coastline scenery.
CLEARED FOR TAKEOFF- ATC authorization for an aircraft to depart. It is predicated on known traffic and known physical airport conditions.
We're cleared for takeoff on Runway 27, so proceed.
As you climb out you'll see the Courtney Campbell Causeway off to your left, paralleling the shore. A little distance ahead it bends to the left.
We were cleared for takeoff on runway 15 Left. Another aircraft was cleared to land on runway 15 Right. As I turned onto the runway, I heard Tower yelling at the other guy, pointedly reminding him to land on the right. I didn't hear any response.
' This means that the controller wants the pilot to move the aircraft onto the runway and hold it there until cleared for takeoff.
Other aircraft may be cleared for takeoff before your 'turn' (hold for release) due to a different routing.
On handoff to tower give type, number, approach type/runway, will report marker and type of landing.
