Clinometer

Aviation ClimboutClosed runway

Clinometer. An instrument for indicating the lateral attitude of an aeroplane.
Closed-jet Wind Tunnel. A wind tunnel in which the air stream passing over the body under test is enclosed by rigid walls.

The inclinometer ball is often referred to as the slip/skid instrument, but that is a misnomer. It measures inclination, not slip. As we shall see in section 17.1.5, it is quite possible for the airplane to be inclined but not slipping.

Any misuse of the aileron can give a sideslip leading to a spin. The inclinometer ball is the leading indicator of unbalanced flight. The lead sentence of this item is correct only if the stall is not prelude to a spin.

Turn Indicator and Inclinometer
Below the VSI is the combination Turn Indicator and Inclinometer. The turn indicator is an electrically driven gyro instrument showing rate of turn, or yaw.

Turn and Slip Indicator - A flight instrument consisting of a rate gyro to indicate the rate of yaw and a curved glass inclinometer to indicate the relationship between gravity and centrifugal force.

PROCEDURE :
The equipment required for this experiment are an inclinometer (to read the rotated attitude of the aircraft) and the weighing platform.

Also the inclinometer able to give the angle of flight when the earth not visible, although the speed indicator usually is -sufficient to give the angle of flight, ...

develops more lift than the other due to the difference in the speed of air that is traveling across the flight surfaces. A well-balanced, coordinated use of the ailerons, along with the rudders, will be indicated by the 'ball' on the inclinometer ...
