COMPASS ROSE- A circle, graduated in degrees, printed on some charts or marked on the ground at an airport. It is used as a reference to either true or magnetic direction.
Then move your hand to a compass rose that is not on the airway, and read off the heading. Finally, look back at the airway and see what the “official” heading of the airway is.
Get out your chart and eyeball a line due south from the Cross City VOR compass rose. The line will cross a river, the Suwannee, and then intersect a little bump of mainland. Just below the bump you'll see a dot in the Gulf. That's Cedar Key.
