control inputs
The controlling influences a pilot exerts on an aircraft's control surfaces

A combination of control inputs that cause a maximally efficient turn ...

--If you are flying with a full fist you are much more likely to put in abrupt and excessively large control inputs.
--Fly with two fingers.

A Flight Director is an extremely useful aid that displays cues to guide pilot or autopilot control inputs along a selected and computed flight path. The flight director usually receives input from an ADC and a flight data computer.

The end result is constant control inputs and corrections by the pilot to keep the helicopter where it is required to be. Despite the complexity of the task, the control inputs in a hover are simple.

Instead, the power should be set to maximum, and all control inputs should use the cyclic.

While in the slow flight configuration, your instructor will point out how slow and sluggish the control inputs react compared to when you are flying at a normal cruise speed.

As I fly the plane and make small control inputs, the CFI, thinking that I’m not controlling the plane properly, adds his own inputs. This creates a tug of war on the flight controls. Is this a common problem? What can I do about it?
Thanks, ...

Be firm when needed
Turbulence or gusty crosswinds require being immediate with your control inputs but do so in a firm, but smooth fashion.
Fixate on touchdown point
Visually fixate on the point on the runway where you want to touch down.

Also highly visible are the main rotor flight control tubes and swash plate assembly that transmit flight control inputs to the three-blade, fully articulated rotor system.

Ruddervators provide the same control effect, albeit through a more complex control system by mixing the control inputs.

FBW - fly-by-wire. Aircraft control systems in which pilots' control inputs are transmitted to control surfaces electronically or via fibre optics rather than by mechanical linkage. Also see FBL. ...

At the bottom of the screen are control inputs for the aerodynamic probe and input choices concerned with throwing a pitch. On the left, a choice box is used to select what variable is being computed by the probe.
