De-Icer. A device for dispersing ice which has formed on any part of an aeroplane, particularly the wings and control surfaces. The best-known type is the Goodrich de-icer.

 


De-icer - De person dat puts de ice on de wings.
Dive - Pilots' lounge or airport cafe.
Drag Chute - Emergency escape slide near copilot's window. Opens automatically if eccentric male captain shows up in women's clothes.

reclamation of glycol, the fluid used to de-ice aircraft, for re-use as a runway de-icer or as antifreeze for automobiles;
recycling of batteries, scrap metal and used aircraft parts at maintenance bases; ...

The instrument was my least favorite training because of frozen wing covers, the handheld spray de-icer, snow and rain in the cockpit, and the freezing temperatures.
