Deadhead is a term used in aviation when a certificate holder is transported by another plane between airports.

 


Deadhead Leg -- a flight with no passengers. Usually a repositioning flight.

Deadhead Resistance.-Fach part of an airplane against which the wind strikes offers a resistance against being moved through the air. This is called the deadhead resistance or the parasite resistance.

Also known as deadheading, ferry flight.
RMI: Radio Magnetic Indicator. A navigation aid which combines DI, VOR and/or ADF display and will indicate bearings to stations, together with aircraft heading.
RNAV: Area Navigation.

Ferry waivers - When flying outside of a provider's 'primary service area,' ownerslose certain guarantees and often have to cover the 'deadhead' cost of moving the plane around.
