Desired track
Tags: Aircraft, Avionics, Navigation
Desired track - The great circle course computed by the FMS/RNAV, it goes from the past waypoint to the next (active) waypoint.

DESIRED TRACK- The planned or intended track between two waypoints. It is measured in degrees from either magnetic or true north. The instantaneous angle may change from point to point along the great circle track between waypoints.

Wind correction angle (WCA). The angle between the desired track and the heading of the aircraft necessary to keep the aircraft tracking over the desired track.
Work. A measurement of force used to produce movement.

By selecting a desired track to a fix, you are effectively flying a radial.
There is no need to find the identifier for the fix
The FMS (flight management system) must know where you are by using raw data from available sources.

To achieve the level of competency required for the sport or private pilot certificate, we need to be able to make turns while compensating for the wind to fly a desired track over the ground.

DP - Deal Pending.
DR - Ded (deduced) reckoning.
drms - Distance root mean squared.
DTK - Desired track.
DTU - Data transfer unit.
Duplex - Separate channels for transmitting and receiving.
