Flaperons A combination of ailerons and flaps. The diferential movement has the same effect as ailerons and the collective movement the same effect as flaps. See also: Ailerons, Flaps.
FLAPERON - A control surface combining the functions of a FLAP and an AILERON. FLARE - A maneuver performed moments before landing in which the nose of an aircraft is pitched up to minimize the touchdown rate of speed.
The first idea will be to build one of those fantastic wings, design a mechanism to allow full span flaperons (flaps and ailerons combined in one full span unit and controllable as flaps with the flap control and as ailerons with the classic aileron ...
To avoid this loss of controllability, the flaperon can be designed as a separate small wing, moving outside of the wing's boundary layer and slipstream.
Hinged portion of the trailing edge between the ailerons and fuselage. In some aircraft, ailerons and flaps are interconnected to produce full-span 'flaperons.' In either case, flaps change the lift and drag on the wing.
