IAS
IAS, or Indicated Airspeed, is an instrument reading obtained from an air speed indicator and is uncorrected for altitude, temperature, atmospheric density, or instrument error.

IAS - indicated airspeed. An aircraft's speed through the air as indicated by the ASI, without correction for position error, altitude or outside air temperature. Also see CAS, RAS and TAS.
IATA - International Air Transport Association.

IAS. See indicated airspeed.
ICAO. See International Civil Aviation Organization.
Ident. Air Traffic Control request for a pilot to push the button on the transponder to identify return on the controller's scope.

IAS (Indicated AirSpeed)
The speed of an aircraft as shown on its pitot static airspeed indicator calibrated to reflect standard atmosphere adiabatic compressible flow at sea level uncorrected for airspeed system errors.

IASCAS → EAS → TAS
Thus IAS corrected for instrument and position errors is CAS, corrected for compressibility errors is EAS, corrected for density errors is TAS.

IAS (Indicated Airspeed) A direct instrument reading obtained from an air speed indicator uncorrected for altitude, temperature, atmospheric density, or instrument error.

If your IAS stall speed is 40 and usual cruise 105 mph (adapt the figures to your aircraft) you will do the runs at 50, 65, 80, 95, 110 and full open. Those six runs done three times each will take close to one hour.

Indicated airspeed (IAS) is the airspeed indicator reading (ASIR) uncorrected for instrument, position, and other errors.

Vne is the IAS which should never be intentionally exceeded in a descent or other manoeuvre and is normally set at 90% of Vd, the 'design diving speed'. For a normal category aircraft, Vd is required to be 1.

In the rather unlikely case that the error is in the gauge itself, it would be better to convert to CAS, multiply, and convert back to IAS.

Indicated airspeed (IAS).
Airspeed as instruments would indicate, not corrected for instrumentation errors or air density; See Also: airspeed; Symbols: V sub 'IAS'; Typical Units: kt,ft/s; Dimensions: Length / Time; ...

Clock the time Δt between height H1 & H2. Note IAS, OAT for each altitude change.

An indicated airspeed of 100 m.p.h. at 5,000ft equals (approx) a true airspeed (TAS) of 104 m.p.h.; 100 m.p.h. IAS at 10,000ft is 112 m.p.h. TAS, at 20,000ft 130 m.p.h. TAS, at 30,000ft 155 m.p.h. TAS.
