Inversion
Often there is a layer of air within the troposphere that is characterized by an increase of temperature with altitude. It is called an inversion and is usually confined to a shallow layer.

 


Inversion illusion. The feeling that the aircraft is tumbling backwards, caused by an abrupt change from climb to straightand-level flight while in situations lacking visual reference.

Inversion: An increase of temperature with height through a given layer of air in place of the decrease which normally occurs.

In a well developed high pressure area subsidence inversions will inhibit vertical growth of cumuliform clouds.

the answer will be port, because that is now the downgoing, advancing blade. If helical propwash is more important, the answer is starboard, because the relationship between the propeller, rudder, and rudder pedals is unchanged by the inversion.
