Cursor mode
Tags: Aircraft, Avionics, Navigation
Cursor mode - The function offered by the FMS/RNAV that allows data entry into an avionics unit such as the FMS and RNAV.

Mode C. Altitude reporting transponder mode.
MRA. See minimum reception altitude.
MSA. See minimum safe altitude.

MODE A The operating mode of onboard radar transponders that transmits a return radio signal to enhance an aircraft's radar return and identify it with one of 4,096 controller-assigned numerical codes.

beta mode - manually controlled mode for CS propellers on turboprop aircraft enabling reverse pitch to be selected for braking or to aid ground manoeuvring.

Multi-Mode Radar: A Multi-Mode Radar is used for Terrain Following (TF) and Terrain Avoidance (TA), Ground Mapping (GM) and Air-to Ground Ranging (AGR).

MODE-A
A transponder which does not give the controllers altitude information
MODE-C
A transponder and encoding altimeter which together give air traffic controllers altitude information ...

Mode - Term used by pilots in the Lafayette Escadrille during WWI to describe what they had to land in during rainy weather.

Motor - A word used by Englishmen and student pilots when referring to an aircraft engine. (also see "Aerodrome") ...

MODE- The letter or number assigned to a specific pulse spacing of radio signals transmitted or received by ground interrogator or airborne transponder components of the Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon System (ATCRBS).

Mode IV.
INTERROGATE
Interrogate the designated contact of the IFF mode indicated.

Mode S: provides a data downlink of flight parameters via Secondary Surveillance Radars allowing radar processing systems and therefore controllers to see various data on a flight, including airframe unique id (24-bits encoded), ...

Multi-Mode Receiver
NAS
National Air Space - The air regulated and controlled by aviation authorities.

Flight Conditions
The Airspeed should be 0, the Altitude 0, and the Throttle 100. Record the thrust
(F net) ___________and the Fuel Flow __________.
Now go ahead and change the altitude to 10,000 ft.

In cruise mode, the SP does its best work at 8,500 feet. Max cruise speed is 124 knots on about 10 gph, so the airplane has a realistic four-hour endurance plus reserve at 75%.

68000 en route mode, described in first flight. Aircraft is trimmed 3qu + 3sd from SLEW default for 82 K/AS (approximate) at 1502. The result is the same as trimming 16qu from full down elevator.
About the Mouse, Joystick, and Rudder ...

Table 18.1: Spin Mode Classification
The angle of attack that appears in this table is measured in the aircraft's plane of symmetry; the actual angle of attack at other positions along the span will depend on position.

Active - As opposed to passive - a radar radiating or in 'active' mode as opposed to standby or passive mode
ADIZ - Air Defence Initialisation Zone
AEW - Airborne Early Warning
AEW&C - Airborne Early Warning & Control (see AWACS) ...

The second longitudinal mode excited by a symmetric disturbance may sometimes be unstable and consists mainly of a slow sinusoidal motion in which the height and the forward speed of the aircraft vary while the angle of incidence remains practically ...

Transponder: Airborne receiver/transmitter portion of the SSR system which receives the interrogation signal from the ground and automatically replies according to mode and code selected.

The aircraft had the new Garmin GTX 330 mode S transponder capable of utilizing the FAA traffic information service (TIS).

Put yourself in "airplane mode" before leaving home
Don't jump into your car, scream out to the airport and strap into the airplane without giving the flight some forethought.

The introduction of effective anti-aircraft missiles rendered this mode of operation dangerous. Radars are line-of-sight, so the high flying Valkyrie would be visible even at very long ranges.

It gives its employer not only the comfort of air travel in a luxury mode of transport but also allows for a wide range of travel making it convenient as well.

Have enough freeboard to support craft in displacement mode on water.
Must be watertight and as smooth as possible
In detail: ...

Get your mind in the landing mode. Visualize the final approach and think ahead of the airplane. Is the airplane aligned with the centerline? If not, make it go there. The airplane requires your input.

S = V+O+L+ADF
2. Transponder codes
N = None or unserviceable transponder
A = Mode A, no altitude reporting, 4096 codes
C = Mode C, altitude reporting, 4096 codes
S = Mode S, altitude and aircraft identification.

FM Frequency Modulation. This describes the mode of transmission of radio signal from transmitter to receiver.
Fail-safe A PCM function which moves servos to a pre programmed position if transmitter signal is lost or corrupted.

Aircraft, motorcoach, or other mode of transportation reserved entirely for use by a group.

City Pair ...

Another failure mode of a hydraulically boosted control system is that one of the servos could be driven to one extreme position or the other by a failure within the servo. This would result in an unflyable aircraft.

A type of transponder known as Mode C, which is used aboard all commercial jets, also is capable of encoding the aircraft's altitude onto the return signal.

Operations within CLASS B airspace require an ATC clearance and at least a Private pilot certificate (local waivers available), radio communication, and an altitude-reporting (Mode C) transponder. Formerly called TCA.

According to the National Safety Council, which publishes an annual report on accidental deaths in the United States and measures passenger deaths per 100 million passenger miles, airlines are consistently the safest mode of intercity travel, ...
