OBSTACLE FREE ZONE (OFZ) - The OFZ is a three dimensional section of airspace that supports the transition of ground-to-airborne-aircraft operations (and vice versa).

 


Obstacle Free Zone (OFZ): The airspace centered about the runway that is clear of object penetrations other than frangible NAVAIDS.

OBSTACLE FREE ZONE- The OFZ is a three dimensional volume of airspace which protects for the transition of aircraft to and from the runway.

Obstacle free zone (OFZ) May be used in specific region near airport. From end of runway away from MAP you have 1/2 nautical mile obstacle clearance area. This area extends in an ever widening angle to 13.5 NM. At 13.
