Overhang - the distance from the outer strut attachment to the tip of the wing.
Overload - to apply a load in excess of that for which a device or structure is designed.

 


Overhang: (1) The extent to which the wingtip of one or two superimposed planes projects beyond the tip of the other. (2) The distance from the outer point of support to the tip of an aerofoil.

Each main panel may be subdivided into the inner wing bay, the outer wing bay, and the overhang.

Mushroom: a rollover or lip around the underside of an overhanging anvil indicating rapid expansion.

During the 2002 Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode "Seeing Red", Warren Mears escapes from Buffy using a jetpack; Andrew Wells reveals he too has a jetpack, but when he tries to escape, he only knocks himself out on the overhanging roof above him.
