Pitot pressure

Aviation Pitch-upPitot tube

Pitot pressure. Ram air pressure used to measure airspeed.
Pitot-static head. A combination pickup used to sample pitot pressure and static air pressure.

Pitot pressure
Total pressure as measured in a pitot tube consists of static and dynamic pressure.

Pitot pressure.
Total pressure
Pitch.
The angle of a rotor measured in the plane of rotation; Symbols: theta,Theta; Typical Units: rad, deg; ...

This can then be used to calibrate an airspeed indicator when pitot pressure (qc) is measured using a water manometer or accurate pressure gauge.

Along with the airspeed indicator and the vertical speed indicator, the altimeter uses surrounding, static air pressure, but does not use pitot pressure.

Air data computer (ADC). An aircraft computer that receives and processes pitot pressure, static pressure, and temperature to calculate very precise altitude, indicated airspeed, true airspeed, and air temperature.

TOTAL PRESSURE
A measure of barometric pressure in the moving air; Synonyms: dynamic pressure, Pitot pressure, stagnation pressure; Compare: static pressure; Symbols...
