PREFERENTIAL ROUTES- Preferential routes (PDR's, PAR's, and PDAR's) are adapted in ARTCC computers to accomplish inter/intrafacility controller coordination and to assure that flight data is posted at the proper control positions.
It knows preferential routes and knows that forecast or real time weather may change arrival routes. Centre computers do not overlap in coverage or information with other Centres. Flight requests not honoured in one must be repeated in the next.
Those aircraft who choose to equip in advance of any mandate will see benefits associated with preferential routes and specific applications.
