RNAV - See Area Navigation
Run-up - A routine procedure for testing aircraft systems by running one or more engines at a high power setting.

RNAV Way Point (w/p): A predetermined geographical position used for route or instrument approach definition or progress reporting procedures that is relative to a VORTAC station position (FAR Part 1).

Similarly, some fancy RNAV units now contain obstacle-clearance data and will give you warning of approaching threats. Another thing that may be of some help is an altitude alerter. This is a simple, cheap instrument.

Each procedure is designated for use with a specific type of electronic navigation system including NDB, TACAN, VOR, ILS/MLS, and RNAV. These charts are identified by the type of navigational aid(s) that provide final approach guidance.
