Royal Aircraft Establishment: The Government aeronautical research station founded at South Farnborough, Hampshire, to succeed the Royal Aircraft Factory in 1918.
RAE - Royal Aircraft Establishment, formerly Royal Aircraft Factory.
RAF - (I) Royal Air Force, or (II) Royal Aircraft Factory.
Work on waverider then moved to the Royal Aircraft Establishment (RAE), where it continued as a research program into high-speed (Mach 4 to 7) civilian airliners.
