Runway Gradient (effective): The average difference in elevation of the two ends of the runway divided by the runway length if no intervening point lies more than five feet above or below a straight line joining the two ends of the runway.

 


RUNWAY GRADIENT- The average slope, measured in percent, between two ends or points on a runway. Runway gradient is depicted on Government aerodrome sketches when total runway gradient exceeds 0.3%.
