Sesquiplane - A variant on the biplane in which the lower wing is much smaller than the upper wing.
Sesquiplane: A biplane with a much smaller bottom plane, sometimes called a one-and-a-half plane.
(True sesquiplanes- V-strutters, notably other Nieuport and Albatros models- are known to have occasionally lost a lower plane due to a lack of torsional stiffness) - but wingstripping seems mainly recorded for the 2 models in question.
