Slat: An auxiliary aerofoil which runs along the front edge of an aerofoil fitted with Handley Page slots. The hinged slat moves outwards to form the slot.
Sleet: Rain and snow being precipitated together.
Sleeve: A drogue or a windsock.
SLAT - Auxiliary airfoil surface, mounted forward of a main airfoil, to maintain a smooth airflow over the main airfoil at high angles of attack.

SLOT or SLAT- A long, narrow, spanwise gap in a wing, usually near the leading edge, to improve airflow at high angles of attack for slower landing speeds.

But there is a simple solution: The amount of drag increase created by the slot depends on the amount of air going through the slot in the whole range of flight.
Examples of such alarms include landing gear warning horn with certain flap/slat combinations, overspeed warnings, ground proximity warning system alerts and washroom smoke detectors.
